Oh Dear Lord! A UFO!
**WARNING** ** CONTAINS SPOILERS **
I think you beat yourself up way too hard. First of all, I don't think that the mere fact that the UFO got CAUGHT in the trees necessarily DISABLED the UFO or its purpose.
It could be like a UFO caught in a dark void, caught in both time and space.
Especially if you consider the fact that the angle of the blackness makes it seem like this other-galactic item is not stuck in a tree, but is in fact sitting a few googol light years away from earth..
..a mammoth member of the star family, ten googol the size of the North Star, but shaped like a moon, which just parked itself in an invisible seat overlooking our galaxy.
And it did so because it is not a pile of silent matter, but is in fact a living, breathing organism -- a life form unto itself -- that roves the entire reaches of the entire universe spectating on sets of galaxies simultaneously for its sole enjoyment.
It doesn't judge, it doesn't amuse itself with the events of these alien-infested or silent-mattered planetary systems, it just delights itself in their activity.
And no, it's not a star, and no, it's not a constellation, it's a GALAXY of extraterrestrial constellations grouped into one solid-bodied organism with no visible gaps.
And I just reported this UFO to Homeland Security under the classification:
All-Terrain, Extra-Galactical Organic Congregational Constellation.
And I wasn't at all ashamed of doing so.
So maybe what you set out to do wasn't your work at all, but, rather, was the work of Harry's.
That's right, I named this self-contained bevy of constellations after myself. Gotta problem with that?
